I only have the first 2 and a half chapters written so it should be fairly easy to jump back into it. This year for Nano though, I will be continuing a story I started writing last year. So, first what is NaNoWriMo? Well, NaNoWriMo (A.K.A Nano) is National Novel Writing Month! So during this month 200,000 (?) writers will all gather their computers, notepads, and coffee cups in their rooms and cafes across the world to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Hope that wasn't too much of ranting for you, but there is my NaNoWriMo 2014 experience. So I put in some filler text for the last 8k, and "won" Nano, because I wanted the offers they were giving, and I want to finish this novel so bad! I just didn't come though during Nano. I was naive.Īnyway, I didn't finish my story, but I want to finish it. I officially quit on the 19ish when I started saying: Oh I'll write during Thanksgiving break. That's when I felt hopeless, and I started to quit.
And my old charries had a better love story in a fantasy/action story, then my nano charries in my romance novel. Also I doodled my charries from my last Novella next to my new ones for this Nano. They were stupid, with no real substance or anything. Issue three, was that once I hit one week I hated my characters. That should have been a red light saying: HEY! HEY! You still have time! Pick a different story!! But, I ignored it and trudged on. Issue two, was that on the first day I wrote how I hated my story on the NaNoWriMo ate my soul forums. The reason for this is that I only outlined 10 chapters of this story then wanted to pants the rest of the novel with a few ideas I had. I lowered my word goal 3-4 times, and wanted to burn my novel several times. So, my story was a really sweet, lovely-dovey story, and I was really into it. Once you finish that come back up here to hear me sob about my failure. For those who don't know what I'm rambling about check out my previous post where I talk about Nano, and everything. No really, I only wrote 12k out of my 20k goal. (Sept.Rose here today, and I want to say: I WAS A HORRIBLE WRITER!
